    Who we help

We serve two kinds of riders at once: an adult child booking for a parent, and a facility coordinator who books many rides a week.

    Our services

One fleet, three ways to ride. Every vehicle is equipped for the ride you need, and every driver is trained in safe securement, transfers, and passenger assistance.

    How booking works

    Step 1

    Tell us the details

Call or fill out the ride request form with the pickup address, destination, date, and time.

    Step 2

    We confirm your trip

You get a confirmation with your pickup window and driver details, so you know exactly when to expect us.

    Step 3

    We show up

Your driver arrives, helps you from your door to the vehicle, secures your chair, and gets you there on time.

    Step 4

Your driver texts when they're close

You get a text about 15 minutes before pickup so you are ready at the door. (Confirming this step with our team.)

    Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I book a ride?

Book as soon as you know your appointment time. We can often accommodate same-day rides when our schedule allows, but a day or two ahead gives you the best pickup window.

Can someone ride along with me?

Yes. One family member or caregiver rides along at no extra charge when there is a seat available. Let us know when you book so we can plan for it.

Do you help me from my door to the vehicle?

Yes. Door-through-door assistance is standard on every trip, not an upcharge. Our driver helps you from your door to the vehicle and back again.

    What areas do you serve?

Madison and all of Dane County, plus Rock, Columbia, Jefferson, Sauk, Green, Iowa, and Dodge counties. Long-distance medical trips are scheduled with advance notice and a quoted rate.

What types of transport do you offer?

Three. Wheelchair transport in ADA vans with lifts and ramps, stretcher transport for passengers who need to lie down, and ambulatory rides for passengers who can walk but need assistance.

Do you provide the wheelchair or stretcher?

No. Passengers travel in their own wheelchair, scooter, or on their own stretcher as their care team advises. Our drivers are trained to safely secure equipment inside the vehicle.

What if my appointment runs long?

Tell us when you book and we can either wait or schedule a return pickup. For recurring trips like dialysis, we plan the return around your usual treatment time.

How do I set up an account for my facility?

Call us or fill out the facility account form. We set up monthly invoicing and a single point of contact so your staff can book rides by phone or email.

Is Wheels for Wellness an ambulance?

No. We are a non-emergency medical transportation service only. We do not provide emergency medical care. In an emergency, call 911.

How much does a wheelchair ride cost in Madison?

Private-pay rides start at a base fare of $[PRICE_BASE] plus $[PRICE_MILE] per mile, quoted before your trip. Facilities are invoiced monthly. Call us for an exact fare before you book.

How do I pay for my ride?

Private-pay rides can be paid by cash, check, or card at the time of your trip. If your care facility has an account, we bill them monthly. You will always know the cost before you ride.
